Richmond Barracks 24th November 2016

The Richmond Barracks is one of the 1916 commemoration projects that the government has invested in for this year’s special celebratory year.
Dublin City Council allocated €3.5 million towards the restoration. This included the Cupola  being brought back to life on the Gymnasium building along with a significant amount of re pointing and masonry repair. The Richmond Barracks was officially opened in May of this year.
The barracks is one of the new tourist-attractions in the Dublin 8 area, joining Kilmainham Courthouse and the new Pearse Lyons Distillery.
